Hello all, and welcome to my new blog. I hope this blog to be a continuation of my previous blog, Evans in Africa, as well as be a new and different site in its own respect, full of reflection, thought, struggles, fears, hopes & dreams.
Tomorrow I leave for seminary, San Francisco Theological Seminary, to be exact, in San Anselmo, CA (30 minutes north of the Bay Area). I will be studying for my M.Div degree (Masters in Divinity), which I hope to complete in 3 years of study... and possibly another year of internship between my 2nd & 3rd year. I will be living in Trinity House, a community group living situation with 7 other seminarians. I'm very excited about moving to a new place, meeting new people and taking classes on church history, introduction to ministry, Hebrew, the Old Testament, Lecto Divina and faith & film. Classes begin September 4th.
Which means I will be taking a 3-week road trip with my pops across the country, arriving August 20th to the Bay Area. We plan to make stops at the NFL and Rock'n'Roll Halls of Fame, in Michigan to visit family and my girlfriend, and taken a generally Northern route across the great and beautiful US of A. I hope to update this site with my thoughts and reflections in preparation for entering ministry, but we'll see how far the Internet revolution has reached across the desolate Great Plains. I plan to be much more consistent once I'm settled in on the Left Coast.

Wow! Your coming to the west coast! Why am I not surprised but yet I am. How exciting! SFTS is lucky to have you! Can't wait to hear about your trip. I still remember the trip that Jonathan and I took to seminary. We went mid-level (through Colorado) it was beautiful and a fun way to get ready for your life in San Anselmo! Let us know when you get settled, we would love to see you!

Missed you in June but check out the laws in the midwest, as in TN road kill is legal. You might have some interesting eating along the way!

Funnily enough, I will be in San Francisco in August – the 25th to 27th, to be exact. So even though you've left Charlotte, we could still meet up! Possibly!
